Deal, Kent, is somewhere I’ve been wanting to visit for a while. I only discovered it after following The Rose Deal (more on that later) on Instagram but my boyfriend actually grew up not far from it so he was already familiar (and just forgot to tell me it was heaven on Earth).
The seaside town is full of cute, old-man pubs, independent boutiques and brunch spot after brunch spot. Unfortunately, we only got to spend the day there but I will definitely be going back whenever I next have a free weekend. Here are a few of my faves…
We had a lovely lunch at The Rose. I had the infamous mac n cheese and it was possibly the best mac n cheese I’ve ever had (mac n cheese is possibly my favourite food as it is). We sat in the garden afterwards with a drink and I could have literally spent all day there. Definitely going back to spend a night in the hotel!
I’ve actually been following these guys on Instagram for a while. They originally started as a fashion boutique in Hoxton where I work and then swapped over to interiors when they moved to Deal. They sell a great mixture of brands from all over the world as well as some of their own designs.
Mileage Vintage Home & Tea Station
A few people recommended Mileage when I said I was going to Deal and I was not disappointed. If only we had arrived in a van and not on the train! The place is chock-a-block full of beautiful antique furniture and there’s even a cute cafe at the back.
Deal Saturday Market
Deal has a market on most days but I had heard through the grapevine that the Saturday one is the best. Along with the traditional food and flower stalls, there are also plenty of vintage clothes, furniture and homeware. Again, why did I not take a van!
I definitely plan on visiting Deal again very soon to spend a night at The Rose. Please send through any recommendations that I missed!
